Welcome Trigger Happy Tara

TaraImages for a Cure welcomes St. Augustine Concept photographer – Tara Skalowski! I’m going to have to admit, I actually begged her to let me include her on the blog because I wanted to show off her awesome style of photography! Warning – her website is entrancing :) Every shot is creative and interesting – and I love that about her! Stop by and give her a look!

Why did you want to get involved with Images for a Cure?
I heard about Images for a Cure through another participating photographer and immediately wanted to jump onboard. Bearing the statistic of being the second most common cause of cancer death in women of most races, breast cancer impacts hundreds of thousands of women, plus their families and friends, every year. I spend a lot volunteer time photographing events, but have never participated in such a compassionate endeavor that would allow me to do what I love – and REALLY mean it. The combined efforts of our talent as photographers, plus the compassion of our clients, will help us all get one step ahead in the fight against breast cancer.

How has Breast Cancer (or any cancer) made an impact on your life?
Though I have been lucky to have never been directly impacted by breast cancer, I lost my grandfather, my “best buddy”, to lung cancer when I was a teenager. Six years ago, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. After undergoing treatment and surgery myself, I understood more why cancer research and education is so important. I am grateful to be able to contribute to a cause that is there for anyone touched by breast cancer. There is comfort in knowledge, so I believe research is essential.

How many tattoos do you have?
I get this question probably more often than any question about my work or equipment! I’ve lost count. Really, I have.

Details of her sessions:
I’ll be offering a Boudoir Marathon Day for the event! Mini-sessions will be scheduled at a new hotel suite in St. Augustine, and will include one hour of shooting time. Extras: A disc of all edited photos plus rights to print is $150. Also, take 20% off the “Little Black Book” signature boudoir album. Think ahead to the holidays… a gift for your man AND a way to give back!
