Images for a Cure welcomes our very first NH photographer, Joe Savitch of Complete Lifestyle Photography in Nashua! Joe is doing something really cool and offering Dog sessions, in addition to his other sessions! How cool is that? Joe’s relationships with his clients make his images warm, personal and emotional. He has a unique perspective and great editing style, and you should definitely take a few minutes to check out his blog and thank him for participating

Why did you want to get involved with Images for a Cure?
Many people will comment that “wow you have the coolest job in the world!” and yeah its pretty darn cool. But what makes it the most wonderful, and rewarding job in the world is the people we get to meet. I love talking with my clients, hearing their stories. Then taking those emotions and putting them on film (yes I shoot digital, but still can’t help myself sometimes!). I don’t know if the sessions I do on October 11th will change anyone’s lives, that the little bit of money I help raise won’t cure cancer… but its at least a start. This is the message, do something, do anything for causes you believe in and by being involved, you will change the world.
How has Breast Cancer (or any cancer) made an impact on your life?
Breast cancer has not specifically targeted my family though, my grandfather lost his battle with prostate cancer several years ago. He was given the best prognosis by the best doctors, surgery will save you… it didn’t. Watching someone die of any cancer is a profound life changing event. Its so sad to watch someone who was so proud, such a larger than life figure, my own personal superman… just waste away.
Why are you offering specifically dog sessions?
Recently I have been inspired by Rob Nicholson @robhumbledeyes, his work with dogs is just amazing. In addition, my fiancee is a dog trainer and all around lover of animals, our house always has fuzzy creatures in it. We couldn’t have a dog in living in NYC, and always talked about getting one after we moved. Well I had no idea how important the addition of Brian would be to our family (named after Brian Griffin on Family Guy). His energy, his unconditional love, his spirit… all have changed our relationship for the better. I have seen the healing power of animals in the sick and elderly, and that combined with the inspiration of Rob led me to specifically include pets in these sessions.
