Why did you want to get involved with Images for a Cure?
I wanted to help give others the gift of time.

How has Breast Cancer (or any cancer) made an impact on your life?
I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer days before my 27th birthday in late 2006 . Having over a year of time eaten up by numerous medical tests, surgeries, overnight stays, and ingesting a new form of medication that was still being tested was a cakewalk. The hardest part for me, was watching my wife deal with my illness.

What song best describes you?
My wife and I would totally disagree on this one. She would say that Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain” best describes me, only because I’m always checking myself out in the mirror. I would have to say that Nickelback’s song “Photograph” best describes me, especially how every moment and memory has a defining impact on ourselves through out our lives.

Details of his sessions:
Portrait Session fees: $150 on location (Includes HS Seniors, Families, Maternity, Newborns, Couples, Headshots)

Why did you want to get involved with Images for a Cure?
I have known a lot of breast cancer survivors, I like to think that in part they are survivors because of fundraisers like this and I wanted to be a part of this one. I am also working on a coffee table book highlighting these survivors along with some art photography where donations will go towards the fight against breast cancer. I thought, how silly would it be to put all of this effort into my project to donate to breast cancer, and not partake in this great event!

How has Breast Cancer (or any cancer) made an impact on your life?

I am lucky to not have lost anyone to breast cancer, but in 2008 when my Aunt, Ellen Condron, was diagnosed it was like kicking an old bruise for my family. My father was one of six children, he passed away of Lymphoma in 2002, they say that every one in three people will be affected by cancer but it hadn’t really struck us that one of his siblings would likely face what he went through until we got the bad news. Of course we all were hopeful but it was really hard. At first the doctors had been very positive about my father’s cancer, they thought it would be very easy to tackle and he would be on with his life, so when he passed a year and a half after his diagnosis it really sucked a lot of the hope out of us. Ellen restored our hope, she fought hard and didn’t except my father’s fate as her own. She has now become certified as a master gardener and this weekend is moving her daughter into her first apartment in New York City. Ellen has inspired me; and I hope to pass on her inspiration through my photography to other women and men fighting breast cancer.

Secret Guilty Pleasure:
When I have a lot of photoshop to catch up on I turn on the TV to casually watch crime shows (law and order, cold case, ncis, csi etc…) and I usually will get into the Tostitos and salsa or something chocolate!

Why did you want to get involved with Images for a Cure?
Being from a family of six girls, plus having 3 daughters, and four granddaughters, I would love to see a cure for breast cancer.

How has Breast Cancer (or any cancer) made an impact on your life?
I’ve been blessed not to have had breast cancer in my family, but have lost friends to breast cancer.

Who is the most influential person with regards to your business?
His name is Victor Wellington Peters, and attends my church. He’s an artist who is now 107 years old but didn’t start painting until he was 70. He was commissioned to paint a piece for our demonination and at the age of 103, was a finalist for the White House Christmas Card. He proves to me that it doesn’t matter how old you are if you are driven and passionate about your work.

I love shooting families and graduating seniors, but also love shooting weddings. My website is www.imagesbygigi.com and my email address is imagesbygigi@cox.net

I have a skill that could be put to use for a wonderful cause for a very devastating problem. I wanted to do what I could to help.

How has Breast Cancer (or any cancer) made an impact on your life?
My mother was treated for lymphoma she is still with us but not doing great. My mother inlaw passed from cancer. One of my clients a young woman with three young children passed after a long battle. I photographed her sons Bar-Mitzvah shortly after she died.

What is your view on having studio or any type of formal photographs taken?

Why did you want to get involved with Images for a Cure?
About 11 years ago my step mother found a grapefruit sized mast in her breast. After going through many tests it was found to be breast cancer. She had to go through a lot of pre-mastectomy radiation to try and shrink the tumor. Then finally she had to have a double mastectomy. During the chemo & radiation we really weren’t sure if she would make it. Fortunately, she did and just had her 10th year cancer free.

How has Breast Cancer (or any cancer) made an impact on your life?
My step mother was about 6 months over due for her yearly woman’s checkup. She is a larger busted woman (as am I) and said she didn’t even realize it was there when it was smaller. Then once it got that big, she finally found it and went right away, but it was too late. It made me realize how VERY IMPORTANT self check exams are and to be timely on yearly checks as well.

Who is your favorite band?
I love 30STM (30 seconds to Mars). I have loved them since they first came out on the scene. I even met them in person at the Buzz Bake Sale a few years back. I had a broken leg at the time and had them sign my cast. I still have that cast after it was removed & am considering putting it in a shadow box. Cannot wait for their new album to drop in November.

Details of her sessions:
Event Session fee is $75.00, I am offering each session a free CD with the edited session images, dawnvgilmore@bellsouth.net

Why did you want to get involved with Images for a Cure?
I am a woman, i am a mother, i am a daughter. What other reason is there?

How has Breast Cancer (or any cancer) made an impact on your life?
My Grandmother and Aunt were both diagnosed with breast cancer when i was very young. At 8 years old, I discovered lumps in my breasts as well. I was fortunate they were cysts. Cancer hits us at any age, during any stage in life.

How did photography start for you?
I didn’t begin my journey trying to sell pictures. I make photo buttons and mugs from pictures others send in. One day, I was asked if i could make the buttons for a fundraising event. I took the pictures, printed and pressed on site. So many people liked the pictures i took, they asked for a print along with the button and inquired about my session fees. I’ve only done a few shoots, and look forward to more in the future. (shout out to my friends at Adorama for having so very affordable equipment for us “up and coming”)

Details of her sessions:
3 1/2 inch metal pin back buttons $ 5.00 11 oz ceramic coffee mugs $ 12.00 made from pix you send in, or ones we take for you. I would like to donate 20% of sales from these items to Images for a Cure

Comprised of 3 photographers who are all candid, natural shooters…they watch moments unfold and are right there to grab them. They show a different side of events, one that can only be caught in the moment. They photograph engagements, portraits and weddings and do all in a very photo-journalistic manner.

Why did you want to get involved with Images for a Cure?
C&C Photography has three photographers who are each employed full time in public service, two firefighters and a paramedic, and due to our relations with the medical field we come across patients struggling with breast cancer and other forms of cancer on a regular basis. We feel that charities are very important and with the struggling economy we try to be a part of each offer that comes our way.

How has Breast Cancer (or any cancer) made an impact on your life?
One of our photographers has had a family history of breast cancer and it has made joining this cause even more important to us. Through out life we each have come across a family member who was thought to have had cancer or who was diagnosed with the disease.

What other charities are you involved with?
We are supporters of the SC Special Olympics and sponsors for an upcoming event held by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Details of their sessions:
Portrait sessions: $50 for one hour $25 for each additional hour.
Print packages available starting at $40 and a CD of ALL images from your session is available for $200 which will be discounted to $150 for this event.

Why did you want to get involved with Images for a Cure?

I have been incredibly blessed in my life and career to have some amazing women as guides and mentors. One of the things I learned from them was the importance of being an active part of your community – whether that community be your neighborhood, your town, your school or your world. I firmly believe that it is important to pay it forward, take care of each other and try to make a small impact on the lives of those who live around you. As the lead photographer at Arkansas Sports Photography I have always made an intentional and conscious effort to support the lives of the people I photograph, their schools and their communities while at the same time trying to take care of my own family. Images for a Cure is simply a wonderful and timely extension of that effort.

How has Breast Cancer (or any cancer) made an impact on your life?

One of the women who made an early and lasting impression on who I am today was my grandmother Maxine. Describing her as an “active part of her community” would be an understatement. She set an amazing example for me, we were incredibly close and, since her death to breast cancer in 1994, not a day goes by that I don’t think of her and smile. She is with me always.

Tell us something fun about you

While I am the ultimate Razorback fan (honest to goodness one of my first sentences was “Wooo Pig Sooie”) I think a fun tidit about me is that I am the “person” to the most beautiful and caring boxer, Bear Bryant. Yes, Bear Bryant was the legendary coach of Alabama, but did you know that he was born in Arkansas? My boxer is definitely not an Alabama fan. If Bear the Boxer could he would happily follow me to every sporting event I photograph and is quite often the subject of my photography. He is the best dog ever, one of my best buds and even has his own Facebook page!

Details of their sessions:

On Sunday, October 11, 2009, Arkansas Sports Photography will be donating 100% of its session fees to the goal of the Breast Cancer Research Fund – raising funds for research for the prevention and cure of breast cancer in our lifetime.

Since the majority of our photography focuses on youth, high school and college athletics in Arkansas, we have quite a large gallery of photos featuring Arkansas athletes ranging from 6 years to 60 years of age. To further the cause of Images for A Cure, we will donate half of the proceeds from Arkansas Sports Photography sport gallery sales the weekend of October 9th to the support of BCRF. To see our gallery, visit http://arsportsphoto.zenfolio.com to helping the Breast Cancer Research Fund find a cure.

Readers can also visit our website at www.ArkansasSportsPhotography.com, follow us on Twitter (@ARSportsPhoto), become our fan on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/pages/Little-Rock-AR/Arkansas-Sports-Photography/88517675319?ref=ts, or email me at Amy@GloverBryant.com
