Images for a Cure welcomes MaddiePie Creations founder, Brooke Lowther!
Brooke is joining us from Fort Worth, TX and is opening up her sessions on October 10, 2009! It’s so awesome that she’s participating, even though she had a prior commitment on the 11th. I’m looking forward to seeing all the fantastic sessions she does! If you haven’t had a chance to look at her work, it’s bright, colorful and fresh! Why did you want to get involved with Images for a Cure?
We have all been affected by Breast Cancer or know someone who has been affected. For me personally, my Aunt’s best friend lost her battle, my mother-in-law won her battle, and my best friend’s mother lost her battle with lung cancer. I have seen and shed so many tears, and want to make a difference. When I saw the links come thru on Facebook, I immediately knew that this was my chance to make a difference by doing something that I love.
How has Breast Cancer (or any cancer) made an impact on your life?
As a daughter, mother, and sister it absolutely terrifies me to think of cancer taking my life or the lives of those close to me. I watched my best friend go thru such heartache when her mother was diagnosed with lung cancer and take her life 3-4 months later. I want more for my children. I want cures to be found so they don’t have to experience such heartache.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
At one point I wanted to be a Pediatric Physical Therapist. Kids don’t loose hope when they get hurt. They have an uncanny way to believe that they can do anything. It wasn’t until a couple of years ago that I realized that I had an incredible passion for photography. My grandfather was a professional photographer, MANY years ago. After he passed away, I soon found an insatiable urge to capture the moments that life presents to us. It is completely all consuming for me now.

2 Mini-Family Sessions
~$50 session fee (100% of this fee is donated)
~Approx. 30 minutes at a location of your choice
~10 fully edited, high resolution images placed in an online gallery
4 Boudoir Sessions
~$50 session fee (100% of this fee is donated)
~Make-up artist provided
~30 – 45 minutes at my home studio
~2 outfits of your choice (plus a special one that I have picked out)
~15-20 fully edited, high resolution images placed in a private online gallery

Images for a Cure welcomes Amanda Huye of 225 Photography in Baton Rouge, LA! Amanda takes the most precious children’s photos! She also sent me on of the funniest emails asking to be involved (it had to do with breastfeeding… but I’ll leave that for another conversation). She also has one of the sweetest “About Me” sections on her website… and I wanted to share it with you: “i’m amanda. wife to one, mama of four, a child of the sun/Son. old blue jeans. laughter. dark chocolate. crisp autumn days. good ice. cupcakes. violets. small towns. red shoes. coffee. a good book. my camera. these are my favorite things….i capture light. i’d love to capture yours.”
Images for a Cure welcomes Angela Dowling of Bella Vita Photography in Destin, FL! I think that Angela is one of those people that you can’t help but adore! Eclectic and passionate, she spends her time making beautiful images and keeping things in perspective. I’m not sure I know many other photographers with 3 chickens, and so for that, I think she would be my new best friend 
Images for a Cure welcomes Fort Lauderdale, FL Photographer Rosie Hernandez with Let Me Grow Studio! Rosie is a powerful spirit who has taken her business to the “green” level (which I think is pretty cool)! She is offering a CD of images included with her sessions.
